Our Vision
The mission of St. Alban's is to serve the Hampton Roads community, including students and military families. We ascribe to the doctrine, disciplines, and worship of the Anglican Church (ACNA) and uphold that we are a part of a reformed, apostolic, and catholic tradition. Our parish life is shaped and formed by the Book of Common Prayer (2019). Our leadership strives to communicate biblical truths and offer excellent catechesis to the laity while helping and guiding us as we live out and discern God's will for our lives.
Mission Values
-
Exegetical and Historically Faithful Preaching; Homilies that are rooted in scripture, with exegesis using biblical theology as understood by the early church, and maintained through the church's tradition. Preaching that serves to catechize and enrich the faith of our laity.
-
Liturgical Worship; St. Alban's maintains historically faithful liturgy in the Anglican tradition. We follow the order of service from the Book of Common Prayer (2019), and offer an intentional and reverent celebration of of the Eucharist.
-
Intentional Community; Fellowship, family, feasting, and fasting; the rhythms of life as dictated by the church calendar are foundational elements of our Chapel.
-
Global Fellowship; ACNA churches are a part of a global community through the Global Anglican Fellowship. Our liturgy embodies the Western Tradition while embracing best of what the Eastern Church has to offer.
